From mid-June through early August, this program offers something for all ages and interests in a relaxed outdoor setting. On Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons and evenings, Minot’s two beautiful parks (Oak and Roosevelt) host musical and visual arts presentations. Added to the regular AIP season are select Tuesday concerts scheduled to take place in the Nordic Pavillion of the Arts located in the Scandinavian Heritage Park.
Performances have ranged from dance, theater and the big band sound to light opera, 50s and 60s hits, to gospel quartets and jazz! Each season brings a new variety of sights and sounds! Visual arts presentations have included rosemaling, sculpture, quilting, printmaking, watercolor and decorative painting, bobbin lace making, jewelry, and even cake decorating. (Of course, then the audience gets to eat the art!)
Each season showcases special themed events including the City Band’s annual Sousa concert and audience favorites like "At the Hop".
This annual program has grown to be a favorite summer pastime for thousands of area residents through the partnership of the Minot Area Council of the Arts, the City Band, the Minot Park District and the City of Minot along with the generosity of individuals, businesses and numerous in-kind donations. For performance dates, times and park locations see Upcoming Events in the right hand menu.
